Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop – Favourite DSP

If you are new or have never heard of a blog hop before it is a group of participants that create a project that may or may not have a theme and they “hop” together. The hopping means that there is a list of names of the other participants at the bottom of this post and you can click on their links and see all the wonderful projects that have been created. This is a great way to see the talent of other crafters that you may not follow already.

For those that know me, flowers are not usually my go-to and you often hear me saying “how many flowers can one person own” well this time I think Stampin’ Up! has convinced me that I need them all. This Flowers for Every Seasons DSP is just to die for and so versatile, if you are not a flower person, turn it over. There are great generic designs on the back perfect for any card and you wouldn’t even know flowers were in the name.

I teamed this DSP with the Jar of Flowers bundle which is stinkin’ cute on its own. I mean look at the fact that I can create water in a jar, from a stamp alone and those stems just finish off the card. This twine is so sparkly and it looks so lovely and soft with both the white and Misty Moonlight together in the one twine.

As I hadn’t received my order of the coordinating inks or markers yet the flowers are coloured in random colours in an effort to ensure they pop and not blend in at all with these busy papers.
In order to get the jar full of water, you need to use the reverse image of the stamp set and in this case, I used Pool Party ink but stamped off onto scrap first then stamped the jar. In some cases, this was too light and I redid this process, but I felt that without the stamping off it was just too dark and not the look I was going for.

The gingham ribbon on this card is so cute, with the little ruffle on the edge. I do love the softness of this piece of DSP compared to some of the other bolder pieces in the pack.
I tried to showcase all the different flowers in this stamp set as well, which is harder than it looks when you are using the same size template. Some of these flower images are shorter and fatter than others and some were really quite tall. To get some consistency I did use the Stampartus to ensure that the jar was in the same spot for each piece of Whisper White.

I really wanted to try and use all the of new in colours and all of the ribbons that came in this suite of products. I am really warming to the Cinnamon Cider, I know a few people in my greater team are struggling with this colour but I think it is just the shade we needed to complement our other brown tones and I can just imagine the creations some of my wonderful demonstrators and customers will create closer to Christmas. The first thing that comes to mind is Gingerbread.

This is one of the reverse sides of the DSP, that if you are not a fan of the big bright bold colours and flowers, you can turn it over. There are always two sides to a piece of paper and this side would also lend itself to some masculine cards as well, but I wanted to keep the theme going and use the Jar of Flowers stamp.
