Onstage Swaps

I was so excited about having an in person event again. It has been 3 long years, but I was also so busy in the lead up to onstage that I needed to ensure that I had my swaps ready well in advance.

This year I wanted to make something that was simple enough to replicate (I made 24) but striking enough to be different.

In order to do this I simply did one task at a time for all 24 cards. When I make bulk cards I always make in batches of 4 as you get 4 card fronts from a sheet of cardstock.

  1. Cut card base from Basic White Cardstock – standard ½ sheet of cardstock
  2. Cut Basic Black layering piece – 1/8 inch smaller than card front
  3. Cut Shimmery White layering piece – 1/8 inch smaller than card layer
  4. Sprayed the Shimmery White layers with the Stampin’ Spritzer’s that I filled in Isocol and reinker – one in Gorgeous Grape and one in Bermuda Bay
  5. Cut out the butterflies using the Brilliant Wings dies on Shimmery White cardstock (I cut these into card front layers and got 5 different sized butterflies on one piece)
  6. Spray all the butterflies with another spritzer filled with Polished Pink. I decided I didn’t like them all pink so then I went over them with the leftovers of the Gorgeous Grape and Bermuda Bay
  7. I stamped in Memento the script from Ranunculus Romance and the splotches from Quiet Meadow randomly across the piece of Shimmery White layer
  8. Use the Shimmery White Embossing Paste and the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks to add some dimension and more shimmer. I used the diamond shape mask and just used an old gift card to give a nice even finish that is not to thick as I wanted it to dry quickly
  9. I used the embossing buddy to remove the static from the basic black strips I had cut and then stamped the sentiment from Celebrating You in versamark and added white embossing powder. Once heat embossed I then cut the sentiment to size and used the Very Best Trio Punch to give a nice corner. This is a bit tricky to use as you need to keep flipping the sentiment so practice on scrap first before you ruin a sentiment.
  10. Adhere the Basic Black layering piece to the card base then adhere the Shimmery White layering piece to that.
  11. I then stuck dimensionals on the back of the butterflies (I made sure to have two different sized butterflies on each card) and sentiment and adhered them to the Shimmery white layer.
  12. I then finished off with Rhinestones

Hope you enjoyed the cards.
