A few years ago I made some Golf Tee Holders for a market I was doing and they were super popular as it was around Father’s Day. Anyways at the time Stampin’ Up! did not have any golf-related stamps or anything so I used different products but as soon as the Country Club Suite I just had to buy EVERYTHING. It is not often that I purchase the entire suite of products, I mainly focus on the bundle and the DSP but this suite just spoke to me and I had to have it.
As I was going to be doing this as a project for my uplines Team Create Day where there are often 30 – 40 ladies I wanted to get the most from my paper so I did adjust the measurements from my prototype to ensure that I could get 3 of these from one sheet of A4 Cardstock.
The measurements are 2 ¾ inch x 10 inches and then you score at 2 inches, 2 ¾ inches, 6 ¼ inches, 7 inches, 9 inches and 9 ¾ inches. The layers of DSP are 2 5/8 inch x 1 7/8 inch and you need two of these. You will also need a scrap piece of white for the sentiment which is punched out using the Everyday Label Punch and the Golf ball image which is punched out the with 2-inch punch. I have backed this with a Crushed Curry Starburst punch piece.
To put the box together you will need one piece of tape (Red Tape or Tear and Tape) along the small edge FACING RIGHT SIDE UP (the last score line to the end of the piece of cardstock). HOWEVER, before you tape that down you will need to use a hole punch (I used the small punch in my crop-a-dial) to punch 4 holes in the second last score line (between 9 inches and 9 ¾ inches). These will need to be spaced evenly. Once you have punched these holes you can tape the piece down.
The 3rd and 4th score lines are the base of the project. This will probably help ensure that you tape the piece in place where it needs to be. The lid will then flip over and tuck in behind the Starburst piece.
I have simply coloured the grass with Mossy Meadows Blends and left the ball white, but you could colour this if you wanted. I trimmed down the Everyday Label punch using the new Mini Trimmer to fit the project a little more, I didn’t want it to take over.
I finished off with some of the twine and wrapped this around the top before adhering the sentiment. I got the tees from eBay and they come in loads of colours. I stuck with a pack of 100 of red, blue, white and cream to match in the colours of the DSP.
Hope you enjoyed the project and you have plenty of people that you know that play golf. A few of the places on eBay only sell the tees in 100 packs which means you could make 25 of these.
Interested in any of the products used??
