I’m excited to share with you this Galaxy Background project and to be participating in another blog hop this month for Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Group. It is so exciting to be creating more projects and blogging about them.
If you are new or have never heard of a blog hop before it is a group of participants that create a project that may or may not have a theme and they “hop” together. The hopping means that there is a list of names of the other participants at the bottom of this post and you can click on their links and see all the wonderful projects that have been created. This is a great way to see the talent of other demonstrators that you may not have come across before, as this particular blog hop is only for Stampin’ Up Demonstrators that are a part of Kylie Bertucci’s Training Group.
New Techniques! Galaxy Background
I have been researching on YouTube and Facebook for new techniques to try and I came across Mitosu Crafts on Facebook and their galaxy background had me mesmerised.
I watched that video about 5 times. He makes it look so easy so I tried to give it a go. And I ended up in a right royal mess and I am too ashamed to even post photos of my attempts.
Whilst cutting some of the Perennial Essence DSP and for the most part, I have focused on the flower images and really hadn’t even turned the paper over. Well once I saw this DSP on the backside my first reaction was that’s my galaxy background there. So that is what inspired this card.
I wanted to team this with the New Wonders Stamp set because it just goes so well. I attempted to colour using some of the same techniques that were shown in the video but the colouring still needs a little more work.
Decided on a Blackberry Bliss card base for this card as it matches the DSP really well but I was feeling it was a little dark so I added the silver foil behind and this certainly help break the colour up and give it some bling. Every card needs a bit of bling.
I punched out a few stars (using a retired punch) and then layered the sentiment with the silver foil as well and everything was popped up on dimensionals. I then covered the girl and moon in Wink of Stella.
Would love it if you took the time to make a comment and please ensure you continue along the blog hop and check out all the other very talented demonstrators that are participating this month.
