Fancy Fold

This Fancy Fold card is not a card that I usually do but I did catch a Patty Bennett Facebook Live the other day and she demonstrated a card that I just had to try out. Patty has graciously provided a free download PDF on her blog

Fun Fold Idea and New Catalog Sneak Peek!

Fancy Fold Card 1

However, as I am in Australia and our card size is slightly different I did have to alter the measurements for mine and I also chose to add another layer to help make the DSP pop.

Even though I am Australian I still craft in inches so my card base was the same as Patty’s 5 ½ inches x 10 inches, however, I scored at 4 5/16 inch and 8 5/8 inch.
The smaller piece of cardstock that is left in Australia is only 2 7/8 inch x 7 inches (not 3 inches like Patty’s) and this at 3 ½ inches.

I’ve only used 3 pieces of Whisper White – 2 for the insides which I have limited stamping on and are sized at 4-inch x 5 3/16 inch as I have layered this on top of another layer of cardstock which is 4 1/8 inch x 5 3/8 inch. These measurements were also the same from the front cover.

For the smaller flap, I have only one piece of Whisper White in here and two other pieces of DSP all layered on Blackberry Bliss cardstock. The cardstock pieces are 3 5/16 inch x 2 ¾ inch, the DSP/WW layer is 3 3/16 inch x 2 5/8 inch.

Don’t forget to decorate that Fancy Fold Card

decorations used were stamped on scrap pieces, using various punches. I added some additional detail by punching out the flower with the pink vellum and punching out leaves with the green vellum. I then added the coordinating ribbon and finished the card with the flower centres.

By adding the extra layer of cardstock the card does become quite weighty so I think this is a card that I will have to hand-deliver, rather than post but I think it helps the DSP pop.
Hope you enjoyed the card as much as I enjoyed making it and it inspires you to get creative with this set or another set you may own that is similar.

If you would be so kind to please leave a comment below that would be greatly appreciated.
