Dino Days Craze
I’m Dino excited to be participating in another blog hop this month for Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Group. It is so exciting to be creating more projects and blogging about them.
If you are new or have never heard of a blog hop before it is a group of participants that create a project that may or may not have a theme and they “hop” together. The hopping means that there is a list of names of the other participants at the bottom of this post and you can click on their links and see all the wonderful projects that have been created. This is a great way to see the talent of other demonstrators that you may not have come across before, as this particular blog hop is only for Stampin’ Up Demonstrators that are a part of Kylie Bertucci’s Training Group.
As soon as I saw the catalogue this set was on my wish list. I was a little disappointed it was not available to demonstrators in the pre-order, but as soon as the catalogue went live it was my first purchase. Not only did I love the dinosaurs and the matching dies the Designer Series Paper is to die for. The colours in this are so bright and cheerful and just perfect for kids of all ages.
My son Hunter, who just turned 4 is a little bit obsessed with dinosaurs at the moment, as well as Elsa from Frozen. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything Frozen so for his birthday last week I made him this dinosaur card. My mum, on the other hand, was able to make a Frozen card.
As I was a little strapped for time I just die-cut the dinosaurs from a piece of the DSP. Did you know that the DSP piece with the large dinosaurs perfectly matches the dies? Another fun fact is that you get at least 21 full-size dinosaurs and 9 part size dinosaurs from the one sheet. You get two sheets in a pack of the DSP so that is loads of dinosaurs that are just ready to be cut out if you don’t have a lot of time.
Just a little tip, when you use the DSP you don’t get the spikes for the backs of the T-Rex and whatever the other dinosaur is that has the spikes as you pretty much choose the dinosaur or the spikes. Hunter didn’t seem to mind that his dinosaurs didn’t have the spikes but if I had more time I could have stamped the spikes on whisper white and cut them all out separately as well.
We have a running joke in our family that “I love you big much” so when I saw the sentiments in the set it made me a little excited. I inked around the edge of the egg with Pineapple Punch and stamped the sentiments in Pretty Peacock. I then had to use the matching ribbon in this suite and one of those cute enamel shapes to finish the card.
The inside of the card was finished off with this stamp, I think it is supposed to be used to decorate the dinosaur backs when you stamp them, but I thought it worked well on the inside.
I would love it if you took the time to make a comment and please ensure you continue along the blog hop and check out all the other very talented demonstrators that are participating this month.
