The Brightly Gleaming Boxes of Goodies were the gifts for my Christmas Extravaganza Day and I thought I would share how I did them. I get asked all the time how I create my boxes and how do you work out measurements. Well, this one is super simple as I am covering an existing box but still showcases some tips and tricks to think about and ensure you have the right amount of paper before you start.
I always start with some old paper, that way if I stuff it up I don’t ruin my good piece of DSP, especially when it is as pretty as this stuff. In the unlikely event that you don’t have spare old DSP laying around (you must be in the minority), I would simply piece together some copy paper to make it to the 12 x 12 size to start with.
Make use of whatever you happen to have lying around. These boxes initially were the boxes from my envelopes that I knew I could repurpose for something and I have been collecting them from the beginning of the year, which is great so I knew I had enough of them for my Extravaganza Goodie
I used some scrap of some copper foil paper with my favourite punch combo – Starburst Punch with the 2inch circle punch and finished off this with some of those super cute copper stars. I did use some of the retired Night of Navy Seam Binding Ribbon because I needed loads of this and I have nearly a whole roll in my stash so I knew there would be enough for all the goodie bags.
My lovely attendees of the day got to choose a Stamp Set of their choice and they got loads of other things, such as some ribbon and DSP shares from the current holiday catalogue and some embellishments to co-ordinate.
