Rooted in Nature

Today I’ve taken a break from the Occasions Catalogue and focusing back on the Annual Catalogue.  This catalogue runs until 31 May as well and I’ve still got so many of these products that I have purchased and not yet used.  In sticking with my New Year’s Resolution, I am using the Rooted In Nature Set.  Although I have actually inked this set up already and used a whole pack of the co-ordinating DSP I did purchase two additional packets of the Leaf Trinkets and the Twine Combo and want to ensure that I have used these before the catalogue finishes.

I wanted to try and keep with the #simplestamping theme and not use the dies attached to this set but have stepped up the cards using the embellishments in this Suite.

The twine in this combo pack is quite thick and I have wrapped it around the cards three times, which has created some bulk behind the layer of Whisper White.  This could be avoided by laying three separate layers of the twine and only wrapping the ends around the cardstock.

My aim was to use the whole roll of twine in one go and I managed to get 8 cards of each colour combo and I had the tiniest bit of twine left over.  I’ve just put this in the pile of supplies that I let my son craft with.  The total amount of cards made today was 32 which means I’ve also used up one whole packet of the Leaf Trinkets and have opened the second.  Each packet of these trinkets come with 24 pieces.  I still have some of these left so will need to be creative to use these on a future project.

As I wanted to use the twine, I felt I was a little restricted in the colour combos but I did manage to get some great combinations on each card.

·         Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaroon and Garden Green were used on the first card;

·         Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Fig and Rich Razzleberry on the next card;

·         Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Grapefruit Grove on the next card;

·         Soft suede, Crumb cake and Sahara Sand on the last card.

If you are interested in any of the products used and do not already have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I would be happy to help you place an order.  If you would like a catalogue, please let me know and I will pop one in the post for you.

All supplies are listed below.
