February Card Class

Part of my New Year’s Resolution is to make sure that every stamp set I purchase gets some ink on it. I had a clear out of my retired stamps over the Christmas Holidays and I was horrified at how many stamps sets that I had purchased that I have now retired, and they were still un-inked.
With that in mind and continuing on with the #simplestamping theme I have tried really hard to keep things simple, but it is just so easy to add some die cuts when there are matching dies to the set. I have focused on the Tropical Chic Suite this time. I’m not sure what drew me to this set, whether it was the set itself or the colours on the page, but either way this was one of my favourite sets when I first saw the Annual Catalogue but to date had not used it.
I had originally planned to do these cards in one of my Facebook Live video’s but then decided that I would have this as part of the February class.

This would have to be the easiest way to watercolour I have found. All you need is a bit of glad wrap and some re-inkers. If you want to see the video please check it out.

After having so much fun with this technique I was left with quite a few backgrounds so we used them in the class today and then the ladies got to take home the backgrounds which they just made and they can turn them into another project. The colours I used are Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove and Powder Pink. I think I may have used a bit much of the Lovely Lipstick as it has taken over quite a bit but given I was using the foil sheets I thought this was ok.

This one the butterflies stand out a little more. I then heat embossed these two sentiments in black embossing powder.
Although this was a bit of a messy class it was so much fun and the ladies really enjoyed learning a new technique. If you are interested in attending any of my classes please drop me a line.
If you are interested in any of the products used and do not already have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I would be happy to help you place an order. If you would like a catalogue, please let me know and I will pop one in the post for you.
