It is quite difficult to get a good shot of this card without glare but the foil card makes for such a stunning card. Although it is super early for Mother’s Day decided I should get a start as this year I am hoping to sell more of my cards through work. I did have a lot of success late last year when I took them in a sold a bunch but the proceeds were being donated to the QLD Farmers. I then took in a heap of Christmas Cards and these also sold well. I’ve been crafting for over 10 years and working in the same place for more than 12 years but have never had the courage to take any cards in. So my focus for 2019 is to take advantage of each holiday/event to try and sell some more cards, hence the early start on Mother’s Day cards.
This card is showcasing the foil paper in Lovely Lipstick and Grapefruit Grove, which is a level 1 free item from Sale-a-bration. This paper is not for sale (which I am truly disappointed about) but you are able to earn it with every $90 purchase prior to 31/3/19. I have already used my first pack which gives you 4 12×12 pieces of each colour, so you get 8 sheets in total and have started using my second. I find this such a great value for money item that I just can’t get enough of it.
I layered a piece of Whisper White over a piece of Lovely Lipstick and did some stamping on the Whisper White piece to help fill in some of the white space. This is a stamp in the Beauty Abounds set and I call it the “splotch” stamp, which is stamped in Lovely Lipstick. I used the Grapefruit Grove foil paper for the bottom layer of the butterflies and then used the Lovely Lipstick foil paper for the top layer of the butterflies. To ensure that this is easy to adhere to your card use the adhesive sheets, prior to running through the Big Shot. This will make it much easier later and less stressful and messy when putting this card together. Using some of the scraps I punched the sentiment strips using the Classic Label punch and also layered this onto scraps of the foil paper. The sentiment is stamped in Lovely Lipstick and is using the Well Said stamp set which you will find in the new Occasions catalogue. This is another HUGE stamp set with 71 stamps and it does have co-ordinating dies, which I have not used in this card.
If you are interested in any of the products used and do not already have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I would be happy to help you place an order. If you would like a catalogue please let me know and I will pop one in the post for you.
